Novel H1N1 Flu ...

"Death tolls are climbing, more and more people are infected due to local transmission", yet Malaysians are so ignorant!!

What is the problem here? Is their mentality too low to understand the seriousness of this thing going on or the death tolls are not high enough to elicit consciousness among Malaysian population?

What is Novel H1N1 flu?

H--- stands for Hemaglutinin
N--- stands for neuroaminidase
which is the protein normally found on Influenza A virus .
Influenza A virus is a RNA of the family Orthomyxoviridae.

When are we contagious?
one day before to 7 days following the presence of symptoms
Children seems to have longer contagious stage that last up to 10 days.

What are the symptoms?
  • Fever
  • Headache
  • cough, sore throat
  • running nose
  • shortness of breath
  • body ache
  • chills
  • diarrhea
  • vomiting
  • fatigue

What should we do?
Do's

  • wash your hands with soap frequently
  • avoid touching your face
  • stay more than one arm distance (1m) from people sick with flu
  • avoid crowded places
  • eat nutritious food and drink plenty of water
  • get plenty of rest and sleep
Don't
  • Shake hands or hug
  • spit in public
  • take medicine without consulting a physician

If you are sick please:
  • cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze
  • stay and home and limit contact with others
  • rest and take plenty of fluids
  • seek medical advice
Tamiflu ?
Follow your doctor advice, not all flu require Tamiflu. Simply taking Tamiflu will only cause resistance of the virus to drug and when you really get it... You are gonna be in deep shit!!!!

Hope that this post will at least increase a little tiny bit of consciousness in Malaysian population!!!

....and ure one of the reasons why doctors have wayy too much to handle...for goodness sake..yes its a dangerous and more severe form of flu..but its not like u are guranteed to die when u catch it..ppl are dying of normal flu as well..why isn't that a big deal?
